In the Ramayana, when Lord Rama was exiled from Ayodhya by his (step)mother Kaikeyi, the village people followed Ram, Sita and Lakshmana on their path to the forest. Ram was most beloved by the people. When he came upon the forest, he turned around and found them all following behind. With a heavy heart, he insisted for “All the men and all the women should return home”, before he turning and entering the forest canopy. 14 years later, as he returned, he found these great, big mountains where the village people once saw him out. As he remembered what he said, he realized what had happened. Through the years, while men and women had been dismissed, people of the Third gender were not. Out of duty to Lord Rama, they remained there, and over years slowly turned into mountains. Lord Rama, humbled at their loyalty, granted the hijra people with divine blessings; blessings that they still carry with them today.
Trans people are divine beings. Do not forget that.
